An Ultimate eternal love story of the 80’s. Aamir Khan and Juhi Chawla redefined cuteness together. Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak is a tale of star-crossed adolescent lovers defying a blood vendetta between their Rajput clans. In the backdrop of their brutal family feud, the two young lovers meet by coincidence, develop affection for each other and their love blossoms over time. However, when her father finds out about the affair, he immediately arranges Juhi Chawla’s wedding and the lovers take on their families, dreaming of an idyllic life together. Juhi plays the perfect runaway bride in this movie and elopes from her arranged marriage on the wedding night with help of friends. However, much to their despair and unlike most romantic Bollywood stories, their journey ends tragically.

Many in the creative department persuaded the filmmakers to have a happy ending for the movie. However, Aamir Khan and Mansoor Khan, the director of the movie believed the tragic ending would be the perfect climax and stood their ground.This movie made many careers overnight and for the publicity of the movie,  Aamir personally had stuck the posters of the movie on the back of every rickshaw he could find in Mumbai. Such was the craze for Aamir that teen girls were glued to Chitrahaar on Doordarshan in the late 80’s to get a glimpse of his popular song “Papa kehte Hai”.
